Workstream Shared Folder

How the orchestrator and agents in a workstream share documents across machines, how you browse and add files, and which organization settings affect it.

Each workstream has a shared folder. The orchestrator and every agent can read and change the same documents, on every machine they run on. You browse the folder in the Files tab.

What goes in the shared folder

Agents save anything that others will need later: plans, notes, findings, handoffs, reports, and deliverables. The orchestrator tells each agent where its results go when it hands out work. Code changes still live in your repository and go out as pull requests.

The shared folder stays in sync across every machine in the workstream, so all agents see each other's latest work.

Browse files

Open the Files tab in the right pane to see everything the agents have saved under Shared files. You can:

  • Browse folders in the file tree, or hide the tree for more room.
  • Search by name, filter by type, switch between list and grid view, and sort.
  • Open a file to read it, download it, or copy its contents.

When the orchestrator or an agent links a shared-folder file in chat, click the link to open the file in the Files tab.

Add your own files

To give agents reference material, such as a spec, a design export, or a data sample, open Add to shared folder in the Files tab and choose Upload files… or Upload folder…. You can also drag files onto a folder.

Organization settings

When your organization turns off session contents sync, workstreams don't get a shared folder by default. An organization manager can turn on Store Shared Folders in Enterprise Controls to keep shared folders without storing session messages.

If shared folders are turned off while a workstream is running, agents stop using the folder. Its documents come back in the Files tab if shared folders are turned back on.
